The 8oz non-woven needle punched fabric is popular with irrigation and drainage contractors for heavy duty applications. The needle-punching delivers excellent strength and also produces a felt like structure. The felt structure delivers good filtration properties, while allowing water to pass through.  The 8oz pond underlayment traps sand and sediment, keeping it from clogging lines and pumps.  At 8 oz. this product shares the same characteristics as our the 4 and 6 oz versions but is great for landscape jobs where a heavier weight professional performance oriented fabric is required. 

Applications include filtration, drainage, pond underlayment, erosion control, stabilization, and soil separation. This fabric and the 6oz pond underlayment fabrics are commonly used under Riprap in shoreline erosion control projects.  We have the 4, 6, and 8 oz pond underlayment fabrics in many widths to choose from.  For example, erosion control projects usually leverage our 12’ or 15’ wide rolls.
